Hi! I'm Oni. I live in New Jersey. I am an illustrator, educator, webcomic creator, and I started the creator-focused convention called Intervention. I'm in the news a lot. I blog about art, theme parks, and fun things for people who also like kicking life in the nuts. Haunted attractions inspire my artwork.
I’m the artist for this year’s GothCruise T Shirts! This takes place Oct. 23, 2011 sailing from NYC – Bermuda – San Juan on the Celebrity Summit. For more information about this great event and how you can sign up, click: http://www.gothcruise.com/
The client wanted a parody design based off of the “Young Frankenstein” poster with some specific alterations to the characters and scenery.
This is an example of the range of illustration beyond cartooning that I can do. If you want me to work on your project, refer to my “Hire Oni” page. Please note that my availability is limited until mid Sept. 2011 because I am planning and running Intervention in MD on Sept. 16-18, 2011. Approaching me earlier is better than later so that you can get a space in my busy queue.
Some of my favorite metal is very geeky. People keep asking me for recommendations, so here is the post.
1. Leaves’ Eyes: This band is all about Norse Mythology and Vikings. “Destiny” has a sad story:
“Elegy” has some Vikings in it. Lead singer Liv Kristine even did a badass song with Cradle of Filth: “Nymphetamine”.
2. Battlelore: My favorite Tolkien elves are Battlelore. Yes, this band from Finland performes wearing elf ears. Here is “Third Immortal”:
3. Nightwish: Tarja era Nightwish is epic. Here is “Planet Hell”:
4. Amon Amarth: “The Pursuit of Vikings” kicks ass:
5. Within Temptation: WT is a great Doom Metal band that went more toward pop, but is still good. They are known for their epic works based in mythology.
6. Delain is a supergroup made from members of many of the above bands, but they tour with their own band and singer. They tend to be more on the pop side of things.
