Hi! I'm Oni. I live in New Jersey. I am an illustrator, educator, webcomic creator, and I started the creator-focused convention called Intervention. I'm in the news a lot. I blog about art, theme parks, and fun things for people who also like kicking life in the nuts. Haunted attractions inspire my artwork.
Harry Potter fans take note – The consensus is that The Wizarding World of Harry Potter island will open to the public in May.
Here is a video of the current construction progress:
Here is a list of some of the rumored attractions and their status:
Harry Potter and the Forbidden Journey - This indoor ride will take riders through scenes from the books/movies. Expect to see pyrotechnics and all kinds of craziness. They are now testing the ride cars on the tracks and theming the rooms.
Hogwarts – The interior is currently being themed with props and set pieces.
Dragon Challenge Queue - There will be a replica of Dumbledore’s office and the Defense Against the Dark Arts classroom INSIDE the queue for the Dragon Challenge roller coaster. It sounds like this will be another queue that is set up to entertain guests while they wait. (This attraction used to be the Dueling Dragons coaster. )
I’m personally excited to see the Owlery:
And I can’t wait to try the bizarre foods they will sell in The Three Broomsticks. I heard they hired a chef to replicate the dishes in the books:
It looks like anyone who is taking a May vacation to Orlando will need some sort of magic in order to get through any of the lines for these attractions. Let me tell you – this is going to be a huge and much needed update for Universal Studios’ Islands of Adventure.
For some reason it doesn’t feel like the holiday season this year in NJ. People don’t seem to be very happy and there is way too much road rage!
So, I haz an idea! My office closes next week, so I’m going to make my apartment look awesome, and cook some stuff like this Carrot Ginger Bread.
I just realized that it is quite expensive to make an apartment look nice. I’m going to try and get some fabric from the fabric store to use as table cloths to cover up the cheap tables I have in my living room.
However WTH. They are charging like $30 for it? I only paid $8 at my local CVS. If you want one try to find one there or at Sears. Stupid price gougers.
My question is…why did no one think that this tree would be a hot item before now? It’s a no brainer. Everyone wants one. Where was this in 1980? Oh well, I HAZ U NOW.
If my place doesn’t end up looking like a disaster, I might post pix. :D The tree is badass, though. Recognize.
